Description
For sale is a very good condition SPARTAN by Singer electric sewing machine. Singer Manufacturing Company made the Spartan in Great Britain as kind of a budget, more simplified and stripped down version of a Singer 99K. The Spartan was compact at 3/4 the size of other similar machines, making it easy to transport and store. Needle movement is achieved by a belt drivenSimanco motor and controlled by a foot pedal. Motor number is
#RFJ9-8.
The belt is missing but I checked Amazon and easily found a round belt for this model, in stock and only .99. With no belt I tested operation with a large rubber band, it worked wonderfully. You could probably use about anything as a belt replacement if you ever got in a pinch and did not have a extra belt. The sewing machine is painted a shiny black hard enamel and has gold lettering. Entire unit sits on a bakelite box- base. From what I researched, people really like these 192K Spartans and rave about how great they work. A vintage sewing website quoted "If properly adjusted it will sew heavy-duty, big projects as well as the expensive Singer 99K or Featherweight, and is quite cute too!". That's all I can tell you, I
couldn't set up bobbins and thread for the life of me!
I charge NO handling and NO boxing fees. You pay the actual shipping rate based on your location with your choice of mailing options. Thanks for checking it out!
