Description
It's like we went back in history and found this lovely set, The Singer 201-2 sewing machine, called the Rolls Royce of Singers. The Rolls Royce company used this model to do all the leather work for their cars. What makes it unusual is that it had a direct drive potted motor(Gear driven). Notice the black pot on the rear. Most all the singers used a belt drive to an external motor mounted somewhere else. Anytime you tried to go through any thick material the belt would slip causing the machine to stop. This direct drive being gear driven just punches through leather like no ones business. The light to work by is also mounted at the front. All other machines its mounted at the back which made it hard to see your work. Very nice classic machine is super condition. The top of the cabinet has a unique walnut burl veneer, so beautiful!! The beautiful storage bench has curved legs that match the cabinet. So lovely, and in excellent shape, with small reminders that it is pre-loved. The would make a phenomenal gift!
