    Description

    For bid is an original 1935-1936 San Diego, California Herbert Hoover High School "Dias Cardinales" yearbook featuring TED WILLIAMS as a sophomore baseball star!!  He later became a star for the San Diego Padres in the Pacific Coast League and then in the major leagues for the Boston Red Sox!  He is a LEGENDARY player!
    This original HS yearbook has over 88 numbered pages with great Art Deco era illustrations as section headings.  One of these has a 1936 Olympics image with a Nazi image!
    Ted Williams is featured on page 67 as the star pitcher on the baseball team!
    This is a great piece of San Diego school history.  Later that summer (1936) Ted Williams joined the San Diego Padres of the PCL and became a star.  Not much later, he was a rising star outfielder for the Boston Red Sox!
    This yearbook is in good, used condition.  Only about 4 or 5 autographs inside.  Some wear to the covers.  The red parts of the front and back covers some kind of velvet material.  Covers are moderately worn.
